How to Run ArteCraft & All 13 Creative/Office/CAD Apps Natively on Linux (.AppImage & .tar.gz)

Install native Rust + Vulkan replacements for Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Figma on Ubuntu 22.04/24.04, Fedora, Arch, Debian, and Linux Mint — zero Wine required.

02Step-by-Step Walkthrough

STEP 01

1. Choose .AppImage or Zero-FUSE Portable .tar.gz

Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 do not preinstall libfuse2. For instant zero-dependency startup on any distro (Wayland or X11), use the portable .tar.gz tarball — or chmod +x the .AppImage:

# Option A: Zero-FUSE Portable Tarball (works on Ubuntu 22.04/24.04 out of the box)
tar -xzf ArteCraft-Linux-x86_64.tar.gz
./artecraft-linux-x86_64/artecraft

# Option B: Standalone AppImage
chmod +x ArteCraft-Linux-x86_64.AppImage
./ArteCraft-Linux-x86_64.AppImage

STEP 02

2. Automatic XDG App Menu Integration (~/.local/share/applications)

When you install PhotoCraft, VectorCraft, PdfCraft, or CADCraft inside the ArteCraft Linux launcher, it unpacks the native Linux .tar.gz into ~/ArteCraft/Apps and writes standard .desktop entries for GNOME, KDE Plasma, Hyprland, and Cinnamon.

STEP 03

3. Vulkan / Wayland GPU Tuning on AMD, NVIDIA & Mesa Intel

All 13 apps render natively through Vulkan wgpu with PipeWire/ALSA audio. You can inspect or select a specific GPU adapter via environment variables:

WGPU_BACKEND=vulkan ~/ArteCraft/Apps/photocraft/bin/photocraft
