Migrating from Photoshop to PhotoCraft: .PSD Files, .ABR Brushes & .ATN Actions

How to bring your existing Adobe Photoshop layered projects, custom brush packs, ICC color profiles, and recorded actions into PhotoCraft on Windows 10/11 or Browser WebAssembly.

02Step-by-Step Walkthrough

STEP 01

1. Opening Layered 8/16/32-bit .PSD and .PSB Files

PhotoCraft features a clean-room Rust PSD parser passing 307 out of 309 round-trip layer fidelity tests. Keep a backup of client masters while PhotoCraft is in v0.12.x alpha, then open via File → Open (Ctrl + O) on Windows or directly in the WebAssembly browser studio.

STEP 02

2. Importing .ABR Brush Libraries & .ATN Actions

Open Window → Brushes → Import Brushes and select your existing .abr files. Window → Actions also loads and executes standard Photoshop .atn automation macros.

STEP 03

3. Enabling ICC Soft-Proofing for Print (CMYK)

Place your standard ICC color profiles in C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color and toggle View → Proof Setup → Custom to preview CMYK ink limits accurately on DirectX 12 GPU.
